Rock Climbing Training

"The hardest part of training is making the decision to start at all." -Wolfgang Gullich

Wolfgang Gullich, climbing photo, rock climbing training Welcome to rock climbing training!

Our goal is to show your how to improve your climbing performance, whether you boulder, sport climb, do big wall, or are a gym rat.

We want to help you become a better climber by showing you how to train safely and properly.

We have been training for climbing for years and our hope is to share our experience and knowledge with you. Now we're not training specialists or sport scientists, we are just dedicated climbers. Regardless we will bring you what we've tested and what works. You have to understand the 3 elements of climbing.

Physical - this is your strength and pure fitness level

Technical - the technique and climbing moves/skills you know

Mental - controling your mind and the ability to use it to your advantage Mastering these areas is what will make you an elite climber.

So how do we master these areas?

Not so fast.

There are a few things we need to cover before we start. The first thing you have to understand is becoming a better climber is not just about becoming sick strong.

Sal Zullo, bouldering, rock climbing It is extremely important for your training to be as specific to climbing as possible.

Hitting the gym and bench pressing 300 pounds isn't going to help your climbing one bit, it might even hurt you. Why? Because you'll probably have excess muscle mass which will way you down while you climb.

To improve your climbing performance make y...

Training for Rock Climbing, By Ryan Coisson

Finally a Proven Plan to Help You Become a Better, Stronger and More Technical Rock Climber...

Dear Fellow Climber,

Over 7 years ago when I first started climbing I was FRUSTRATED

I thought I would be a natural at climbing, I was always an athlete and naturally good at sports. So, I didn't understand WHY I sucked so much at rock climbing. I had horrible technique, I would get pumped after one or two routes, and I just felt like I couldn't hold on to those stupid small holds.

Has that ever happened to you... have you ever felt that way?

I would go to the rock gym and climb all the time, everyone kept telling me "Ryan just climb more and you'll get better." Have you heard this crap before? "Just keep climbing you'll get better.

Well I felt like I was hitting my head against the stone wall... literally! Nothing I did was working. It felt like the harder I worked at it, the less progress I was actually making.

After a while, I even started resenting any climber who was stronger and better than me - especially the climbers who made it look so darn easy.

Have you ever felt like that?

Do you think you would be a better climber if...

  • You had more knowledge?
  • You had more time?
  • You'd have started climbing at a younger age?
  • Someone would just show you the real tips, tricks, tactics and strategies that acutally WORK?!

The Discovery That Changed My Life

After reading every rock climbing book, magazine, and manual I could get my hands on and experimenting with all the training techniques, plans, devices, supplements... EVERYTHING I could find... I still wasn't making the progress that I wanted to.

Nothing I did seemed to be working... And that's when it clicked.

I had started making friends with some of the most experienced climbers around... professionals and full-timers. In fact, I felt so comfortable with them that one afternoon... I just came out, expressed my frustration, and simply asked for help.

Unbelievable Results... In Record Time.

Have you ever heard the saying "If you want a shortcut to success, find someone who is successful and ask them to show you how to get there!"

Let me tell you, it's true!

In just a few short months, I learned FAR MORE from these climbing professionals than I had learned during the previous years of struggling on my own.

My climbing changed dramatically... my strength, technique, mental toughness, footwork, confi...
